Councillor Steve Mason

Steve Mason was elected to North Yorkshire County Council in May 2022 to represent Amotherby and Ampleforth division.

Alongside his council role, Steve has spent many years campaigning for sustainability and action to protect our environment for future generations. He works to build policy and practice to deliver a wide variety of green solutions. This enhances his role as a councillor, by providing him with insight into procurement, policy and public engagement processes. Steve's background includes leading a broad coalition of communities, NGOs, politicians, influencers, and academics to be a focussed political lobbying force to ban fracking in North Yorkshire.
