Councillor Felicity Cunliffe-Lister

Felicity Cunliffe-Lister was elected to represent the residents of Masham and Fountains division of North Yorkshire County Council in a byelection in February 2023.

She moved to Masham in 2000 following the family buy-back of Swinton Park. With her husband, Mark, they converted the castle into a hotel and launched it in 2001.

The business has grown from strength to strength since then, and the Swinton Estate as a whole now provides employment for 150 employees. The ethos of the business centres around sustainable tourism, community engagement, and regeneration.

Felicity's three children have grown up in Masham and she has been involved in the running and fundraising for Acorns, the Masham play group, been a governor at Masham School, and is currently a governor at Cundall Manor School.

In her spare time, Felicity enjoys sailing, walking, and tennis, sings in the local choir and is in the Fearby panto group. She is currently hosting two Ukranian families.
